of the representatives of Olympic Committee of Mozambique
and International Association of Sport and Leisure Infrastructure Management

February 28th 2009 Mozambique, Maputo

The meeting was organized by the by the Okhaliha, Associação Moçambicana de Gestores Desportivos (Sport Management Association of Mozambique), Comité Olímpico de Moçambique (Olympic Committee of Mozambique) and IASLIM, International Association of Sport and Leisure Infrastructure Management. It was held on Saturday, February 28th 2009 in the building of the Olympic Committee of Mozambique in Maputo.

Conclusions

Topic 1

Conclusion 1

Based on good cooperation in educational programs and projects which are important for development of sport and leisure infrastructure in Mozambique, we propose that Okhaliha, Associação Moçambicana de Gestores Desportivos (Sport Management Association of Mozambique) became a member of the IASLIM, International Association of Sport and Leisure Infrastructure Management.

Topic 2

Conclusion 2

Okhaliha, Associação Moçambicana de Gestores Desportivos (Sport Management Association of Mozambique), Comité Olímpico de Moçambique (Olympic Committee of Mozambique) and IASLIM, International Association of Sport and Leisure Infrastructure Management, will cooperate as partners in preparation of the projects, which are important for the development of the Mozambican sport and infrastructure.

The projects are:

1. Network of National and Regional Sport Centers in Mozambique.
2. System (standards) of planning, building, managing and maintaining sport and leisure infrastructure.
3. Catalogue of Sport Centers in Mozambique.
4. Educational program “School of Sport and Leisure Infrastructure Management” and professional training and executive consultancy programs.

This projects will be presented to the Ministry of tourism and sport of Mozambique. Projects should be partialy financed from the funds of the Ministry of tourism and sport and otreh public funds in Mozambique.

Conclusion 3

Okhaliha, Comité Olímpico de Moçambique and IASLIM, will prepare educational program “International School of Sport and Leisure Infrastructure Management” in Portuguesse language and present the program to the Universities in Mozambique. We shall propose to them to include the program in their curriculums and offer it to the students.

Conclusion 4

Okhaliha, Comité Olímpico de Moçambique and IASLIM, will prepare IASLIM Regional Conference of the sport and leisure infrastructure management of South African countries.

We plan to organize the Conference in November 2009 in Maputo.

We shall invite sport and leisure infrastructure operators and their associations from 14 countries:

1. South Africa
2. Mozambique
3. Namibija
4. Swaziland
5. Malavi
6. Zimbabve
7. Botswana
8. Zambia
9. Lesoto
10. Angola
11. Tanzanija
12. Kenia
13. Madagaskar
14. Mauricius

The tasks of Okhaliha and Comité Olímpico de Moçambique are:

• preparation of the mailing list and contacts with the invited organizations and responsible persons,
• international promotion of the Conference,
• establishment of the Organizing Committee,
• organization and funding of the Conference in Maputo (administration, reception, transportation, conference hall, translation, video presentation).

The tasks of IASLIM are:

• preparation of the agenda and materials for the Conference in Maputo (translation in Portuguesse will be done by Okhaliha and Comité Olímpico de Moçambique),
• preparation of the materials in electonic form,
• communications with the invited organizations and companies,
• international promotion of the Conference,
• participation with the Organizing Committee in organization of the Conference (guest speakers).

Conclusion 5

Okhaliha, Comité Olímpico de Moçambique and IASLIM, will prepare IASLIM Conference of the sport and leisure infrastructure management of the Portuguese speaking countries.

We plan to organize the Conference durng the Sport Games of the Portuguese speaking countier in July 2010 in Maputo.

We shall invite sport and leisure infrastructure operators and their associations from 14 countries:

1. Portugal
2. Mozambique
3. Brasil
4. Angola
5. Cabo Verde
6. Guine Bissau
7. Sao Tome e Principe
8. Timor Leste
9. Macau
10. Guine

The tasks of Okhaliha and Comité Olímpico de Moçambique are:

• preparation of the mailing list and contacts with the invited organizations and responsible persons,
• international promotion of the Conference,
• establishment of the Organizing Committee,
• organization and funding of the Conference in Maputo (administration, reception, transportation, conference hall, translation, video presentation).

The tasks of IASLIM are:

• preparation of the materials (translation in Portuguesse will be done by Okhaliha and Comité Olímpico de Moçambique),
• preparation of the materials in electonic form,
• communications with the invited organizations and companies,
• international promotion of the Conference,
• participation with the Organizing Committee in organization of the Conference (guest speakers).
